Life-saving surgery

It was a day of challenges, but also of compassion - a reminder that every act of care, no matter how small, makes a world of difference.

Amid these emotional moments, there were demonstrations of brilliant skill and teamwork as the clinic team rallied together for an emergency: a cat hit by a car, its diaphragm ruptured and intestines pushed into its chest.

The clock was ticking.

They had to operate immediately.

The surgery was delicate - carefully manoeuvring the displaced organs back into the abdominal cavity as the cat’s lungs expand with each mechanical breath administered by the anaesthesia machine. The tear in the diaphragm was jagged, requiring precise suturing. After an hour of meticulous work, the tear was repaired.

The surgery was long and delicate, but the team worked tirelessly to save its life.

A huge pat on the back for Jules, Claire and Sian for performing this life saving surgery.

What a fantastic team effort!
